An international panel discussed human rights law, how human rights are enforced in different countries, and how the rule of law itself becomes part of a culture over time. They also discussed the contributions of Ronald Dworkin in human rights debates.
“Lessons from the Past for the Future of Human Rights: A Conversation” was part of the event “The Future of Human Rights,” held at Georgetown University Law Center’s Gewirz Student Center.
Georgetown University Law Center, The New York Review of Books and The Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law presented The Future of Human Rights. Panelists included U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pamela Karlan, among other experts.
